It’s time for a #TeamMemberSpotlight!! Meet Ashley Akaba, Surgical Neurophysiologist! Ashley joined our #clinicalteam this past summer! ⭐
Take a few minutes to read about her below!👇👇👇
I come from an immigrant family, my parents immigrated to America in 1999 and I was born and have lived all my life in Southfield, MI. I recently graduated this year from the University of Michigan with a major in Movement Science and a minor in biochemistry this past April! During my time at UM I was able to complete their IONM program through the school of kinesiology which is how I was led to the field. I have a lot of family in New York and I am super excited and blessed to be an SNP in New York with Neuro Alert, as they were one of my top choices of places where I would like to work post grad.
Outside of science and anatomy, I have a huge interest in the arts and all things creative! I grew up playing the piano and violin and recently started learning to play the guitar. When I am not at work you’re likely to find me anywhere with live music or poetry. I am also a huge foodie and enjoy trying new cuisines so I am very excited to try as much as New York has to offer foodwise!
We are #grateful to have Ashley on our team and thankful for her outstanding #contributions to #patientcare! It is an honor and privilege to watch her grow and advance in the field of IONM!
And we’re so proud of her for recently passing her CNIM less than 3 months into her professional career as a Surgical Neurophysiologist! 🎉 This is the definition of hard work and determination! Ashley is amazing!🙌
