D-Wave Monitoring Saves the Day! 
In an extraordinary case, D-wave monitoring proved to be a game-changer during the resection of an extramedullary spinal tumor. 
Typically, D-wave monitoring isn’t a standard request on these case types, but this time, it made ALL the difference. 
When SSEPs and TcMEPs showed significant changes, D-waves remained stable. 
This gave the surgeon the confidence to persist with the tumor resection.
The result? The patient woke up WITHOUT any deficits! 
Without D-waves, the surgeon would have had to abort the procedure much sooner if they solely relied on SSEPs and TcMEPs. 
This is a remarkable example of how multi-modality intraoperative monitoring ensures better outcomes for patients.
