In December 2018, Neuro Alert’s Regional Manager, Greg Jason, CNIM, traveled with the Butterfly Foundation to Myanmar to offer IONM services to underprivileged patients with spinal deformities.
Greg arrived in Myanmar after many travel hours from New York to Mandalay along with seven surgeons, three instrument representatives and three neuromonitoring clinicians. As a team they performed twenty-seven surgeries, many of which were pediatric scoliosis cases.
After twelve-hour days and a total of 65 hours in the Operating Room at Mandalay Orthopedic, Greg arrived home with a renewed sense of pride in his role and the field of Intraoperative Neuromonitoring.
“I feel honored to have been a part of this special mission trip and inspired by the group of people who came together to help our patient’s move on to live better, healthier lives. I am looking forward to contributing to more medical efforts to provide surgical care for those who are less fortunate.”
